Amicis are pleased to announce its recent confirmation of membership of NWCSC. This membership brings further opportunity for collaboration with cyber security and affiliated businesses in the North West of the UK who are determined to push the boundaries of what is possible in our market.
Cyber security is one of the fastest growing industries in the UK, particularly in the North West. These growing tech spaces, and their contribution to UK growth, are supplemented by an increasing number of information and managed security specialists, who are choosing to locate their business, or a significant part of it, so that they are closer to the markets they are targeting and servicing.
In July 2021, DCMS announced £850,000 of funding to support the establishment and activities of the UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration (UKC3), which aims to support economic growth and skills development in the UK cyber security industry. UKC3 has a number of recognised clusters. In addition to the North West Cluster, the following regions also exist: Bristol & Bath Cyber Cluster, Cyber North, Cyber Wales, CyNam (Cyber Cheltenham), East of England Cyber Security Cluster, ScotlandIS Cyber, South West Cyber Security Cluster, Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster, Midlands Cyber, Swindon and Wiltshire, and NI Cyber.
According to a Government study in 2022, the North West makes up 9% of active cyber offices and 7% of registered UK cyber firms. Given our professional roots are North West based and a number of clients and partners are based in this region, we believe the impact the North West cluster will have on Amicis’ growth will be significant.
Working with NWCSC and its members, we will create opportunities for easier entry into the industry, whether that is for organisations taking their first steps towards building an effective cyber posture and security culture or individuals wanting to establish a career in the industry.
Amicis would especially like to thank Robert Briggs at NWCSC for accepting us as members.
